Job Description

The position is responsible for the creation of brand and generic pharmaceutical product contracts utilizing previous experience with writing, reviewing, and modifying contract terms for purchase and distribution agreements with wholesalers, and purchase and sale agreements with retail customers. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to create agreements that establish the terms of the approved business relationship between Teva and the customer(s). Tactical delivery of contract documents to Teva’s external customers and internal functional areas. Key internal stakeholders include US Generics Commercial leadership team, US Generics contract administration group, Legal, Sales, the Revenue Optimization and Contract Compliance group, Finance, and Internal Audit. Handle the associated internal functions related to the executed agreements.

  • Create contract legal agreements between Teva and external wholesale and retail customers for generic and brand pharmaceutical products. Create or modify agreements by collaborating with legal, finance, sales and others in drafting agreements and amendments.

  • Manage contract activity including coordination of contract terms and conditions for purchase and sales agreements. Ensure accurate and timely dissemination of contract related information to all interested parties both internal and external to Teva.

  • Present integrated terms and conditions analyses to key internal and external customers. Provide answers to questions related to the terms and conditions of the Agreements as they arise for internal Teva inquiries.

  • Ensure contract accuracy and completeness in line with customer administration activities, including chargebacks, returns and rebates.

  • Continually seek out opportunities for functional improvement and improved business processes.

  • Manage both brand and generic divisional and state supplemental Medicaid agreements.

  • Potential for direct management of team members, including employee coaching, counseling, setting objectives and providing opportunities for staff development. Analyze need for and oversee any interns or temporary staff.

  • Follow all Teva Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.

  • Other duties, as assigned, or as business needs require.


Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or major related to contract terms and conditions

  • MBA in Business, Marketing or Pharmacy preferred

  • Minimum of 5+ years progressive experience in working with internal and external customers to understand the components in wholesaler and retailer pharmaceutical contracts

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in writing and modifying contract terms and conditions for generic and brand pharmaceutical products

  • Generic pharmaceutical experience preferred

  • Medium to large organization experience

  • Supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory

  • Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed: Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Outlook, Workshare Compare


  • General understanding/knowledge of the inner workings of pharmaceutical contract management review process.

  • Company/Industry Related Knowledge: General understanding/knowledge of generic and brand pharmaceutical industry. Understanding of standard terms and incentives offered to industry customers is mandatory.

  • Recognizes and diagnoses problems quickly and identifies appropriate solutions

  • Involves others in diagnosing organizational needs and designing solutions

  • Makes informed, rational decisions and recommendations and takes accountability for them

  • Demonstrates ability to generate business-case analytics and make appropriate recommendations on the basis of findings

  • Demonstrates the ability to establish good working relationships at all levels of the company both domestically and globally

  • Identifies, understands, and meets customer needs and expectations with creative solutions that add value

  • Demonstrates the ability to understand the legal environment of contract law, applicable regulations and the policies of the organization relative to contracts administration

  • Complete understanding of all subscribed audits – how they work and required maintenance

  • Stays current, understands, and applies technical and professional skills and competencies to perform the full job

  • Must have the ability to plan, organize and prioritize requirements independently

  • Demonstrates the ability to manage and coordinate multiple high priority projects effectively and ability to adjust to changing priorities

  • Demonstrates attention to detail

  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to present ideas articulately. Promotes and maintains open communication channels, both vertically and cross-functionally.
