The opportunity

The Production Planner is a critical role in the Site Supply Chain responsible for creating a stable and optimal production plan. You ensure that the production plan is scheduled to secure output against supply planning requirements. Next to these activities, you are responsible for timely purchasing of API materials (active pharmaceutical ingredient) required for manufacturing.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Translate a rough production plan into weekly and monthly buckets in schedules for the Sterile production department, while maintaining the balance between customer service and operational efficiency

  • First point of contact for production for any planning related topic, ensure strong communication and cooperation with production

  • Timely placement of POs /Rolling Forecast to API suppliers to meet the production schedule

  • Assess the impact on the availability of materials and production planning that may affect the demand for products that go beyond the plan. Escalate to procurement if the issue cannot be resolved.

  • Monitor the timely execution of the schedules and maintenance and optimize schedules on the basis of the progress in the execution of the schedules

  • Provide monthly volumes for internal and management discussions, comment on deviations. Evaluate performance and initiate / coordinate actions to improve

  • Participate as a key figure in the S&OP process

  • Inventory management and reporting (e.g.: safety stock setting, inventory targets, adherence to targets), including coordination of write-offs

  • Master data maintenance: maintain the planning parameters and vendor data in ERP system

Your experience and qualifications

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar position, ideally in a (complex) manufacturing environment

  • You preferably have a BSc degree in Supply chain / Logistics and/or APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management)

  • You are hands on, cope well with tight deadlines and enjoy working under pressure

  • You have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Fluency in Dutch is an advantage

  • You are a solid and flexible team player with strong organizational skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
