Location of the role
This role is located in Netherlands, UK and Germany.
The opportunity
The purpose of this role is to establish an EU Commercial Capabilities Center of Excellence to future-proof EU people and functional capabilities.
This role will be a member of the Global Digital Commercial lead team and important contributor to the team purpose: “We are all in for empowering our people to create sustainable, trusting, impactful, customer relationships & businesses today and tomorrow” and team strategy: “Commercially & digitally transform & equip people and organization to attain sustainable competitive advantage.”
How you’ll spend your day
Responsible for leading and defining the EU Commercial Capabilities Center of Excellence (CoE) including vision, strategy, people and budget
Define, design, and implement programs to future-proof commercial functional capabilities including marketing & sales skills competency models, frameworks, brand plans, toolkits, best practices, guidelines integrating capabilities being led by complementary CoEs (such as Customer Experience & Digital, Data Strategy & Science)
As a capability expert, contribute to relevant Transformation workstreams and lead the capability portion of the workstreams when they transition to “business as usual” such as Launch Excellence and Commercial Excellence
Establish new COEs such as Marketing Excellence, AI Excellence, Sales Excellence etc.
Serve as the learning & capability expert across the broader team, guiding SMEs on learning methodology and partnering to co-create programs
Establish and maintain central EU commercial capability digital hub
Lead and facilitate transversal, scalable best practice sharing across EU-wide marketing & sales communities (ex: customer centric brand plan community of practice)
Build and maintain strong EU commercial function leads (Marketing, Digital, Sales leaders) relationships
Primary EU partner to US, International Markets, Global capability leaders
Ongoing performance tracking, synthesizing learnings & implications to ensure high quality implementation of capability programs
Your experience and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or sciences required, advanced degree such as MBA preferred
13+ years of relevant commercial experience (learning/capability, marketing, sales) in and above market (local/regional/global)
Strong life sciences industry experience
Direct & indirect management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication in English
Persuasive, engaging verbal & written communicator
Structured and organized in developing strategy & execution
Transversal, connected, enterprise mindset
Agility to balance successfully from vision to strategy to execution
Curious learner with external orientation (seeks inspiration & benchmarks externally)
Job conditions
Ability to adapt to an everchanging EU environment
Should be able to handle fast paced, dynamic team pace
Team is geographically dispersed primarily in EU, some globally (IL, NA)
Some international travel, primarily in EU (approx. 30%)
